Oh Captain, my captain

Hoy tengo... debo actualizar.... y es que uno de los grandes del comic internacional falleció ayer a los 98 años de edad.

¿Por qué tanto interés en este hombre? porque, junto con Kirby fue el padre del Capitán América, uno de los personajes que nos han acompañado durante nuestra niñez... y antes que a nosotros, a nuestros padres...

Nacido en Rochester en 1913, y primer editor de Timely Comics (del que hablaré otro día) .


Pero no sólo es Joe Simon, sino también Gregory Sykes y Jon Henery... y es que en el mundillo del comic, antiguamente, es difícil seguirle la pista a uno de estos genios.


Poco más puedo decir, aparte de su impresionante historia en Marvel, DC comics... 


En días como hoy,  me quedo sin aliento  para seguir escribiendo... tan sólo me queda decir, como uno de los seguidores de sus "hijos"...
..."Oh Captain... my captain"

O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:

This arm beneath your head
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won;
Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
